After HSC 12th science stream engineering

Technically creative and innovative skilled manpower of any country is generated by undergoing engineering courses. One can choose from diploma and degree courses. For diploma courses you can refer to After SSC web page. Those who choose for diploma courses after HSC can apply for admission to diploma courses. After completion of diploma they can further apply for admission to directly second year of degree course.

Engineering Courses

For admission to engineering it is essential to have opted Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) during HSC. Those whose have chosen PCMB group can also get admission  to engineering. However, to seek admission to engineering degree courses one has to appear for entrance exams like IIT-JEE, BITSAT and CET exams of different states.

Entrance Exam For BE

JEE Mains

National level entrance exam conducted by CBSE for admission to Engineering/ Architecture programs at NITs, IIITs and centrally funded technical institutions like IIST. Those who qualify for the Mains exam is also eligible for appearing JEE Advanced. There are almost 39,000 seats in NIT's. Application: November – December, Exam: 1st Sunday of April. Mode of examination:

Paper 1 For B Tech / BE (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) is conducted in online as well as offline mode.

Paper 2 For B Arch and B Planning (Mathematics-1, Aptitude Test II and Drawing Test–III is conducted only in offline mode.

JEE Advance

JEE (Advanced) is conducted by Joint Admission Board of IITs for admission to all undergraduate Engineering and other science programs offered at 16 IITs in India and ISM Dhanbad. There are roughly 10,000 seats in IIT's. The candidate should either  be in the TOP 20 % in his/her board or should have secured marks more than 75% marks. Only 2 consecutive attempts can be availed by candidates. Exam: May.
There are two compulsory papers of 3 hours each. Both the question papers consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Those candidates who desire to join B Arch should qualify in an Aptitude Test, conducted at all Zonal IITs in the month of June. Indian Institute of Space Technology IIST, Thiruvanathapuram considers JEE Mains and Advanced scores for admission to its various B Tech Degree programs in Aerospace Engineering and Avionics and 5 year dual degree program B Tech and M S / M Tech.

NATA
National Aptitude Test (NATA) is conducted by the Council of Architecture for admission to B Arch in Government and aided as well as un-aided colleges of Architecture. The test is aimed to evaluate architectural awareness, imaginative comprehension and expression, mental ability, analytical reasoning, identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities, visualising different sides of three dimensional objects, visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings and drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences. Aesthetic Sensitivity Test is online test with 40 multiple choice questions to determine the candidates understanding of scale and proportions, creating visual harmony using colours in given composition, creating interesting two dimensional composition using given shapes and forms, combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form, sense of perspective drawing, visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings, and ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner.

BITSTAT
BITSAT is online entrance exam for admission to integrated First degree programmes of BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad as well as for admission to BITS Pilani Engineering, Pharmacy, Information Systems and other courses. The test consists of 4 parts and conducted without break in duration of 3 hour. These papers are Part I : Physics, Part II : Chemistry, Part III : (a) English Proficiency and (b) Logical Reasoning and Part IV : Mathematics All questions are of multiple choice questions and with negative marking system.

VITEE
VIT University conducts entrance exam for admission to various B Tech Degree programs. Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes while Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programmes.

EAMCET

In the state of Andhra Pradesh, EAMCET is conducted by JNTU for admission to Engineering courses in various state colleges.

CET
In Maharashtra (MH-CET) and Karnataka, CET is conducted independently for admission to Engineering courses in respective state colleges. The specializations that can be opted for during admission to Bachelor of Engineering (BE) are provided below. This list is ever increasing and hence need not be considered as complete. One must always refer to Directorate of Education websites for any new specializations available.
